MAXIMA started its operations in Bulgaria in 2005, having opened its first stores in Sofia. The chain underwent particularly rapid expansion in 2008: as much as 11 T-MARKET stores corresponding to MAXIMA X type were opened. At the end of the 2009 year, over 30 stores were operating all over the country.
