Marko Põder appointed to lead Maxima in Estonia

On 3rd of January the new Chairman of the Board of MAXIMA Eesti Marko Põder was appointed, previously interim CEO of the company since September of 2018. He also became the new permanent CEO. The selection process was conducted in cooperation with management recruitment agency. Four candidates participated in the final stage of the selection.

Prior to becoming Chairman of the Board and CEO of MAXIMA Eesti, M. Põder has worked as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Member of the Board in the company for two years. He has more than 10 year of experience in the retail sector. M. Põder studied retail management in Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) and has Executive Coaching diploma from Estonian Business School (EBS).

“In the selection of the new CEO in Estonia, we evaluated candidates’ motivation, vision for the company and experience in retail sector.  A significant advantage that Marko brings is the fact that he knows the organisation, is well-aware of its strengths as well as challenges. I believe that this advantage and solid experience in Estonia’s retail sector will help to accomplish ambitious goals for Maxima Grupė”, says the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Maxima Grupė Dalius Misiūnas.
