Promoting Education

The Group’s companies primarily implement programs and support initiatives focused on children’s and youth education and well-being.

In Lithuania, we continue our Lithuanian MAXIMALISTAI scholarship program. In 2025, we allocated EUR 120,000 to the program, providing monthly scholarships throughout the academic year to 125 talented students. Over the 22 years of the program’s existence, more than 1,000 students have received scholarships. Our other companies across the Baltic States also run similar scholarship programs for employees’ children.

MAXIMA Latvija, together with Latvia’s largest youth and children’s NGO, “Latvijas Mazpulki,” launched a project that gave aspiring young farmers the opportunity to learn about the retail business and sell the vegetables they had grown in MAXIMA Latvija stores. During the autumn harvest season, our stores received more than six tonnes of beetroots grown and cultivated by these young farmers.

Last year, MAXIMA Latvija was one of the main partners of the national Job Shadow Day initiative. The program encourages children and young people by giving them the opportunity to observe professionals from various fields at companies across Latvia and gain first-hand insight into different careers. As part of the initiative, around 60 participants shadowed our employees to learn about the retail business and careers in the sector, helping them better understand retail as a potential future career path. MAXIMA Latvija also continued its summer employment program in our stores, offering school students the opportunity to work during their summer holidays. Last year, more than 400 young people across Latvia participated in the program.
